This timeline will provide evidence of my understanding of the historical, current and future direction of Indigenous education.
According to Partington et al. (2012), in the 1800s to the 1930s a set of policies and practices for Aboriginal education slowly emerged. Australian governments up until the 1960s believed that Aboriginal children should only receive minimal schooling in line with the understandings about the limitations inherited in their race and their expected situation in life at the lowest treads of white civilization.
